A joint delegation from the Center for Renewable Energy and Industrial Maintenance (CERMI) represented by its Executive Director, Luís de Pina, and the CERMI Regional Anchor Strengthening Project in ECOWAS, represented by its Coordinator, Jansénio Delgado, ended its mission to Mali yesterday. The delegation discussed forming partnerships in areas of common interest with the two countries.

Thanks to strong local organizational and logistical support by the Luxembourg Agency for Development and Cooperation (LuxDev), the delegation was able to meet with various officials, entities and national institutions in Mali, and discuss partnerships, as well as visiting infrastructures and training centers for Renewable Energy and Industrial Maintenance.

CERMI's Executive Director acknowledged that “we have made good use” of these opportunities to “identify areas of cooperation and to discuss and plan ahead on ways of implementing joint actions”, within the framework of CERMI's Regional Anchor in the ECOWAS region.

The Cabo Verdean delegation met with senior officials from the ministries of Employment, Vocational Training and Energy, as well as with the Mali Renewable Energy Agency. The Cabo Verdean delegation also visited the National School of Engineers, the National Centre for Training in Energy and Sustainable Development, the Higher Technical Institute of Arts and Crafts and several universities, entities with whom, according to the Coordinator of CERMI's Regional Anchor Project, Jansénio Delgado, they had "very fruitful" dialogue.

Today, the Cabo Verdean delegation is already in Niger, where an identical agenda to the one in Mali will be carried out. This mission falls under the remit of project CVE/881, financed by the European Union and receiving technical assistance from LuxDev.
