A delegation from the Center for Renewable Energy of Cabo Verde visited Mauritania as part of its drive to strengthen visibility in West Africa and establish effective partnerships in the region. Participating in the mission was Executive Director of CERMI, Luís Pina, and Project Coordinator for the CERMI Regional Anchor Project, Jansénio Delgado – a project financed by the European Union and implemented by the Luxembourg Development Agency.
During their stay in Mauritania, the two made contact with public institutions as well as local and private entities, and introduced CERMI and the options the Center provides in terms of staff training and participation in the energy transition process in Mauritania.
On the last day of the mission, the delegation met with the University of Nouakchot, the National Center for Research in Renewable Energy, the Department of Physics and Vocational Training of the Vocational Training Institute and the National Electricity Company of Mauritania.
The meetings presented good prospects for future partnerships, in the context of strengthening the regional positioning of CERMI, which is increasingly growing into a reference center in West Africa.
With this mission to Mauritania, CERMI concludes its first cycle of meetings with potential partners from all countries in the West African region.
